This was a super fun custom cake for a Sweet 16! The client wanted a theme park cake, but wanted to highlight their 3 favorite parks Disney, Universal Studios, and Sea world. And by request, the birthday girl wanted lavender fondant, yes we did a small happy dance when we heard that, you know how much we love purple. The larger full picture, the purple looks better, but it came out weird in the closeups, i think b/c i used the flash. But i assure you the purple was fabulous!!! The cake itself was one of my all time FAVS, and we don’t get it ordered that often so i was very excited – chocolate cake with mint chocolate chip buttercream! YUM!!!  :)

Here are some of the closeups of the fondant and royal icing details. The Universal world was a rice krispie treat covered in fondant and then painted with luster dust. We strung the letters on a wire to put them around the world. Yes i was feeling very Ace of cakes like, and i used his wire cake thingys (this time they were easier to bend and cut now that i figured out how lol)

Oh Shamoo and a royal icing and fondant rollercoaster. I think Shamoo ended up being my favorite part!

Micky Hat from MGM. Figured it combined magic and mickey, and that is so disney!

Ferris wheel!! :)

So this was the rollercoaster on the back. And for all you old school Jersey shore kids, yes i did name it after my favorite boardwalk rollercoaster as a kid, the “Jet Star”.  It was the one with the crazy ass drop on the waaaay back left of the pier in Seaside Heights circa the mid 80s LOL! I have no clue if its still there, but it ROCKED!!! :) So this is my ode to the Jet Star of the Jersey Shore! :)
