Christmas Chocolate Chip Cookies

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

P1010195One of my favorite parts of the holiday season, of course, are CHRISTMAS COOKIES!!!! Really, who doesn’t love cookies, and christmas cookies to boot!

These are my infamous holiday chocolate chip cookies. The secret is to put both holiday m & ms and semi sweet chocolate chips in the batter.  Can you tell i’m a little obsessed with the holiday M & Ms…lol. Sometimes I even throw in  dark and/or milk chocolate chips as well.  The different  types of chocolate totally complement each other to make for a super deliciously simple holiday cookie!  And the m & ms give them a festive holiday look! Ever since i’ve been 12, i am in big trouble with my fanily if i don’t make these each holiday season. Happy Holidays! :)

Festive Holiday Brownies

Festive holiday brownies for the season! Our rich fudgy brownies topped with decadent frosting and sprinkled with holiday M & Ms and colorful tree sprinkles. Also below are our candy cane brownies. The frosting is refreshingly minty and then topped with red and white mint chocolate pieces.

The Andees company just last year starting selling chips in both red and green during the holiday season in the baking aisle.  They come in bags similar to chocoalte chips.  So you can still get a great mint flavor, but in chocolate instead of a harsher hard candy.  And they are pre chopped into cute small pieces. How great is that!? They are my favorite for holiday baking, definitely check them out! Every year i have my various relatives in multiple states check their supermarket to hoard them for me…lol.  If you love mint, definitely try to find these little delicious holiday helpers!

Winter Sugar Cookies!

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

mitten cookiesMy favorite time of year for fun cookies! Although i’ve been up to my elbows in truffles for the past few weeks (hence the lack of blog posts…lol, not to worry more are coming!!), i had the pleasure and fun of making these cute cookies for an office holiday party order.  Just simple mittens and snowflakes. The snowflakes are decorated with royal icing then sprinkled with sugar to give them a real sparkle effect. The mittens are frosted with a softer icing (that still dries hard…love it!) and then the designs are piped in royal icing. They are just too cute to eat!  Happy baking! :)
