Alas, it’s that time of year again, summer’s almost over. Sad face! But happily i had a fun colored birthday cookie order to brighten things up! Believe it or not i haven’t done actual birthday sugar cookies before. So we improvised with cookie cutters we already had, making the star “Happy Birthday” cookies, and used our wedding cake cookie cutter to make the cool birthday cakes. I love the little swirl and curly cue decorations. And although i would have loved to make them purple, this was for a boy so i went with your basic bright colors. Happy birthday Ryan!

Baptism Cross Sugar Cookies
Monday, August 2nd, 2010
These super cute cross sugar cookies were for a baptism order for an old high school friends son’s baptism. Small world right! She wanted simple blue crosses and left the design up to us. So we came up with two versions using shaped sprinkles – the simple heart and the fun polka dots. Our buttery sugar cookie is iced with blue icing, outlined in white royal icing, and then decorated with the sprinkles. You can’t tell from the pictures, but then we dusted them with edible luster dust to give it an added shine. Happy to report that they were a hit. Happy Baptism Tommy!

NYC and LA Sugar Cookies
Saturday, July 17th, 2010I LOVE these cookies! Almost as much as I love NY! This was a super fun custom cookie order for one of our corporate clients that does business both on the east and west coast and wanted to incorporate that into these gifts for their clients. We used a combination of our sugar cookie icing as well as royal icing to decorate them. And we got to use edible frosting sheets with our new edible ink printer! Very exciting! The “I Heart NY”, “Sunset Blvd”, as well as both the Central Park and Rodeo Drive Scenes were all printed out onto edible frosting sheets and then applied to the iced cookie. I have to say i’m LOVING my new edible ink printer!!! Oh the possibilities!!! (insert evil pastry laugh here…lol) And there will definitely be more fun uses of our new found medium, so definitely stay tuned!

Sex and The City Cookies
Sunday, May 16th, 2010Hi all! Sorry for the delay in postings, things were a little hectic moving apartments, but now i’m happily back in blog land with these super cute “Sex and The City” cookies! These were custom sugar cookie boxes for one of our clients to give as special gifts, and they absolutely loved them. The high heeled shoe and “Cosmo” glass are you basic sugar cookie with icing, and we made the logo cookie by putting printed edible rice paper on top of the icing.
The printable rice paper is great! You can either print your own (using edible ink and a brand new ink jet printer, i think i saw one online for like $40…lol) or order them online (a great and reliable company is Go Go Cake’s Cake Stickers check them out!) We’re kind of in love with the whole edible paper image thing currently…lol!
Either way, these are so my new favorite cookies so far this spring. You can never go wrong with sexy and sassy cookies!

Cupcake & Cookie Decorating Birthday Party!
Friday, April 30th, 2010We had SO much fun at our first ever just for kids “Decorate your own Cupcake and Cookie” party for little Miss Sarah’s 6th Birthday! This party was, as you can see, princess themed. There was pink icing, sparkles, and sprinkles everywhere, it was FABULOUS, and the kids loved it! Each little girl got to decorate 2 cupcakes (one chocolate, one vanilla) and 3 princess themed sugar cookies. There were loads of icing colors and edible things to decorate them with. From different colored and shaped sprinkles, to fondant hearts and starts, and even some special edible “Princess” glitter! We also got to make a fun princess cake (see below) and also the white chocolate princess wands you see above the place settings. And a very special thanks to the awesome and super sweet little girls of Kalos street (and the great moms!) for making our first kids party such a blast!
Check out a bunch more pictures on our facebook page album at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=164755&id=17664639606&l=da98df0644
We can’t wait to do our next party so email us if you’re interested! We’ll happily coordinate with any theme or color! Happy Decorating!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies (with extra chocolate!)
Monday, March 22nd, 2010
So taking a little break from cakes, i turned to some delicious peanut butter cookies (with extra chocolate of course!). I came up with these when i was trying to figure out one last thing to add to our new Peanut Butter Gift Tower. I took your everyday home made peanut butter cookie, dipped it in chocolate, then dipped it yet again in either chocolate sprinkles or crushed peanut butter cups. Yummy!!! I tried to decide which one to use, but i loved them so much that both variations will be going in the gift tower! And what better for a rainy day than chocolate peanut butter cookies!

Christmas Chocolate Chip Cookies
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season, of course, are CHRISTMAS COOKIES!!!! Really, who doesn’t love cookies, and christmas cookies to boot!
These are my infamous holiday chocolate chip cookies. The secret is to put both holiday m & ms and semi sweet chocolate chips in the batter. Can you tell i’m a little obsessed with the holiday M & Ms…lol. Sometimes I even throw in dark and/or milk chocolate chips as well. The different types of chocolate totally complement each other to make for a super deliciously simple holiday cookie! And the m & ms give them a festive holiday look! Ever since i’ve been 12, i am in big trouble with my fanily if i don’t make these each holiday season. Happy Holidays!

Winter Sugar Cookies!
Sunday, December 13th, 2009
My favorite time of year for fun cookies! Although i’ve been up to my elbows in truffles for the past few weeks (hence the lack of blog posts…lol, not to worry more are coming!!), i had the pleasure and fun of making these cute cookies for an office holiday party order. Just simple mittens and snowflakes. The snowflakes are decorated with royal icing then sprinkled with sugar to give them a real sparkle effect. The mittens are frosted with a softer icing (that still dries hard…love it!) and then the designs are piped in royal icing. They are just too cute to eat! Happy baking!
