It’s been cakes galore this week! This cake was for a 50th Birthday party in NYC that was on a cruise around Manhattan. They wanted a Sex and the City, martini glass and purse cake, so this is what we came up with. 
There’s a lot of fun stuff going on within this cake. The cake itself is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, all covered in fondant. All the decorations were handmade out of fondant, including the shoe and pearls! There were a few inedibles on this cake. The mini martini glass of course is plastic, but we filled it with strawberry jello to make it look like a mini cosmo drink. And the swizzle sticks on the fondant martini glasses are colored toothpicks. And since it was on a boat, we worked extra hard to make sure everything was invisibly super secure & inner structured so it would stay put on a moving boat, which happily it did. What better way to celebrate your 50th than with a Sex and the City cake!
